At 55 Degrees Glass we aim to produce recycled glass items which will contribute towards reducing the waste produced in our county.
All our bottles are collected locally and we have been granted access to our local recycling centre where we collect bottles which have been deposited in local bottle banks. Recycled items are washed thoroughly and the labels are removed before being fired. Because the bottles are lovely thick glass they are safe to put in the dishwasher and to use with food.
All the bottles fire differently some have a clear glass finish whilst others become opaque. Bubbles of air are sometimes trapped between the layers of glass making each one completely unique.It is impossible to know what the finish will be when firing each bottle which makes the process very rewarding to undertake.

We are based just outside Newcastle upon Tyne making original kiln fired glass pieces. Each piece is unique and our prices are very reasonable. Puchases can be made online or by contacting us by email.
